Vynagrip is best suited for foot traffic and light-duty applications. As a loose-lay matting system, it is not recommended for heavy pallet loads or frequent wheeled traffic. Without being affixed, the mat may buckle or shift (“walk”) under stress caused by carts or equipment.
Before installation, it’s important to consider the flooring surface:
-
Concrete floors: Must be properly sealed. If unsealed concrete is exposed to water pooling, PVC matting may “stick” to the porous surface over time. This is not due to a chemical reaction but a mechanical effect—water trapped beneath the mat can freeze, creating a suction or ice-bonding effect.
-
Metal floors: Ensure surfaces are smooth and dry before laying the mat to prevent movement and moisture retention.
These factors stem from environmental conditions such as temperature fluctuations, moisture pooling, and ice formation, rather than any incompatibility between PVC and the substrate.
